IT Technician

We seek to appoint a suitably experienced and enthusiastic part-time Design Technology technician to support the continuing development of this large and busy department.

ACES Academies Trust is looking for a Part-time (3 days per week) HBK Information Technology Technician

Salary

Scale 4, Points 7 – 11, namely £15,557 - £16,582 (FTE £25,584 - £27,269)

Working week

8.00am - 4.00pm with a 30-minute unpaid break each working day.

Total hours per week:  22.5 hours / 52 weeks per year

Requirements and desired skills

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading computers, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Expertise in Windows, macOS, Systems
  • Understanding of antivirus software, firewalls, and basic cybersecurity principles
  • Ability to identify and mitigate common security threats like phishing and malware
  • Experience in diagnosing and resolving IT issues across hardware, software, and network layers
  • Use of diagnostic tools to isolate problems (Network testers)
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory/Netflow, group policies, and user account management
  • Installation of networks (Layer 1)
  • Ability to troubleshoot network issues, configure routers/switches, and manage Wi-Fi networks
Desired Qualifications
GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4) Desired
GCSE or equivalent Mathematics (Grade 4) Desired
CompTIA A+ (Basic hardware and software skills)
Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or equivalent
